Are you in the VICINITY of Croydon on Friday 1st November?

'Do you fancy them or are they just in the vicinity?' is our co-founder/writer of 'My Mum's Dead Boyfriend' Sarah Teale's LONGEST TITLE yet and it's also the first show where she has her breakdown WITH HER CHEST rather than making an actor do it for her !!!

It does however promise to be just as good with a pint as the rest of No Door Theatre's shows !!!

Find out more on the website & go and have a giggle if you're about !!! (You might even fall in love ????)

Part of a TRULY EXCELLENT programme of work as part of the Croydon Fringe thanks to Croydonites

Hey gang, have you heard of a little thing called... the BBC?!

There aren't WORDS to describe how proud we are of Georgia Affonso for her public debut on the BBC (first of millions!!!)

The INCREDIBLE 'Wholesome' was broadcast at 2.15 today on BBC radio 4 (6.8.24 - remember that date!) intergenerational, heartwarming, heartbreaking, just really really good!

BUT if for some reason you were doing something else, you can listen now at the link below. What are you still doing here you cowards!!!

A play by the voice of her generation/the best co-director/friend a gal could wish for is waiting for you!

My Mum's Dead Boyfriend R&D May 2024!

We are still reeling from a fantastic week of exploring Sarah Teale's new play about loss and the hierarchy of grief.

This was our first Arts Council England funded project and we are incredibly grateful we were able to bring together such an impressive professional team.

Special thanks to Box of Tricks for use of their Playmakers Space!

Our final day ended with a sharing to industry professionals at HOME Manchester. We've got tons of feedback to inform future phases of our project.

Time now to rest and then redraft, evaluate and move forward!

Thank you to everyone who was involved, supported, guided and cheered us on.

Team:
Writer - Sarah Teale
Director - Lauren Vevers
Producer - Georgia Affonso
Dramaturg - Lydia Marchant
Bereavement Support Worker - Farha Mallu
Actors - Ashleigh Cordery and Jason Done
Emerging Artist - Hannah McCoy

Our friends at Box of Tricks are aiming to raise £12,000 to keep running their fantastic PlayMakers Network.

They've been super generous and supportive of us over the years, as they are to many playwrights in Manchester!

Please support them if you can ❤️

Donate to our 18th Birthday Appeal via Crowdfunder! As Box of Tricks comes of age, we urgently need your help to raise £12,000 for our PlayMakers Network to connect, collaborate and create over the next twelve months.

In this challenging climate, we need to turn to our networks to help us in our hour of need. Last year, following numerous funding knockbacks, we were forced to streamline operations and let go of our brilliant Literary Team. This has been a huge blow to our creative mission. Looking to the future, we now need to find the money to continue supporting Northern talent.

Workshop announcement!
Our third workshop about grief will be 5.30-7.30, 9th May 2024 at Manchester Central Library and open to adults (18+).

This workshop, led by writer and actress Lauren-Nicole Mayes will explore a subconscious route into writing whether that be inspired by words, poetry, articles or provocations. This is a space to feel excited, curious and open minded whilst exploring our own connection to grief , in whatever form that may be. With no requirement or expectation to finish or showcase work, this is a chance to explore and play.

This is an Arts Council National Lottery Project Grant funded project
