“The film production industry produces significant emissions and requires systemic change to reach net zero carbon emissions and to be environmentally sustainable.”
We have a responsibility as filmmakers to regulate our impact on the planet, and there are plenty of small changes we as producers can make to our ways of working to help us do this.
A few ways we’ve been working towards our sustainability goals are…
🛠️ Always working with local crew & suppliers where possible to minimise travel
💧 Using water fountains, reusable bottles, and even water backpacks, as alternatives to single use plastic bottles
♻️ Setting up clearly labelled recycling stations on set
🎥 Using Virtual Production methods to reduce emissions from travel, set building and energy consumption
