L.S.Lowry. The Cripples

I did this piece back in February 2022. It's actually one off my favourites, but I wasn't quite happy with the completed look. To rectify this I've elevated the base which seems to off done the trick.

It's funny looking back at your work. Today I probably wouldn't of made this sculpture, after being a support worker, supporting adult with learning/physical disabilities. However the piece was done to see if I could emulate the painting into a Papier mache sculpture as the picture and caricatures fascinated me, and I also wanted to do justice to the work of L.S.Lowry. I hope I've achieved this?

Let me introduce Otis with his favourite blanket!
This sculpture has been specially made for my sister as a gift.
Sculpture made using homemade Papier mache using card and pva glue, galvanised steel, masking tape, acrylic paints and finished with wood varnish.

This is my latest Papier mache sculpture. I've named this piece:-

A Scouse Seagull (The Scream)
This piece is heavily influenced from my time living in Liverpool. When I first came to Liverpool I was greeted by the biggest Seagull I've seen, eating a rat behind Lime street station! I learnt very quickly that Scouse Seagulls are proper gangsta!
I became a support worker and spent many days at the Albert Dock reading the messages on the lovers locks. Special memories were created.
Why Edvard Munch. The Scream? I couldn't think of a better expression when confronted by a rat eating Seagull.
