Iguana Bar closed its doors for the last time in the summer of 2011.╰☆╮In its lifetime it nurtured a wealth of Manchester's performing talent, launching many artists, including soul singer Kristyna Myles.

Just to make it official, for those outside of Chorlton who may not have heard yet, Iguana will not be re-opening. We are leaving this page as a legacy archive to illustrate all the amazing events staged at the venue and the equally awesome people who made the place sing.
We'd like to thank all our friends who helped make the bar a trail-blazer in the field of live entertainment in South Manchester. We will miss all the artists who performed at the venue, along with everyone who came through our doors to support them.
It's been brilliant. We'll miss you all.

So good to see Iguana stage regular and friend Kristyna Myles gaining more exposure. She's just sung live and been interviewed by Myleene Klass on Channel Five's morning show. Brilliant also that she's using her new-found fame to help vulnerable young people by embarking on a 10,000 busking tour of the UK in support of homeless charity Centrepoint. Well done Kristyna!

Thanks everyone for all your kind messages. Sunday will be a very sad day for all of us at Iguana. The last live entertainment night will be on Thursday, with Calypso George's 'Iguana Party.' We'd like to invite everyone to come down and help us say goodbye in style. ###

Iguana is very sad to announce that, due to the unresolved issue of escalating business rates, this coming Sunday, 24 July, we will be closing our doors for the last time. We'd like to thank all our customers who have visited us and supported our events over the past 12 years, and it is our sincerest hope that maybe we will welcome you again at some time in the future.
