💙🧡🩵 ONE-OFF OPPORTUNITY 🩵🧡💙
We don't normally share the behind-the-scenes side of running a small business, but we wanted to be honest about something that has happened recently.
We had a £590 Bluey-themed party booking for October. This was already a *significantly* reduced package price because of the amount of items being booked.
The customer confirmed that the full balance would be paid on 25th September. Based on that commitment, we went ahead and ordered stock and materials specifically for their event, including balloons, banners and other items.
The payment hasn't been received and, despite contacting the customer, we've currently had no response.
We completely understand that circumstances can change — that's life. But when you're a small business, when someone commits to a booking and then stops communicating, there is a real financial impact.
Behind Black Lace Events is a real person, a real family and a business that we've worked incredibly hard to build. The money spent preparing for a confirmed booking has already left our business, and the stock is now sitting ready to be used.
Small businesses aren't just businesses. There are real people and families behind them trying to earn a living. ❤️
So rather than let the situation get us down, we're turning it into an opportunity for somebody else!
