There are a few remaining spots left on some of the workshops at our day of clay, 11.07.26.

Three slots throughout the day each offering an overview of a different fundamental hand-building technique.

10-12 • PINCH
12:30-2:30 • SLAB
2:30-4:30 • COIL

Pine Apple Pressé - A Pot Making Workshop

Last week was an absolute pleasure; Joe Hartley joined us in the garden to lead a pot making workshop with our regular garden clubbers from Elizabeth School.

Exotic in name but brutal in form, these striking slabs draw inspo from the surrounding concrete architecture of Stopford House. Press moulds, compound cuts, full bags of terracotta and lots of stomping!

Watch out as these finished pots will soon house a selection of apple and pear trees, creating a new connection between the garden and the building that surrounds it.

1:1 GUIDED DARKROOM SESSIONS 📸

On Friday 12th June, we are offering bookable slots in the darkroom for 1:1 guidance from photographer .skorska

These slots are for anybody, but might appeal to:
• Complete beginners who are interested in an intimate taught introduction to a basic darkroom process (developing B&W photographic film, enlarging and printing from developed B&W film).
• People who need a refresher on basic darkroom processes or are relatively new to the darkroom
• People with some experience in the darkroom who would still benefit from guidance from a professional for troubleshooting or support refining your skills.

The session is completely tailored to you, your aims and your skill level. You can book your slot through our website or Eventbrite.

Come on down to the Merseyway Workshop on the 6th June for a morning of making.

Josie of .and.mai will guide you through the process, creating templates from paper before translating these onto slabs of clay. You’ll be taught the techniques required to properly form and attach your sections of clay, producing a bespoke vase based on your template.

Your work will be glazed and fired in time to hold the first of your summer blooms🌻
