Put your big thumbs to use and book the last remaining spot on our upcoming course, ‘What Wood Clay Do?’, Saturday mornings in September.

The course is a creative collaboration between potter Arvinda and woodworker .workshop. The artists have explored how wood and clay can act as companion materials to each other and are excited to share what they have found!

Each week introduces different processes which combine the two materials. The course will cover some simple woodworking techniques and an introduction to handbuilding with clay. No experience in either practice is required.

You’ll come away with a handful of finished objects: hand-carved wooden stamps, a ceramic vase, and a wooden box with ceramic elements.

Last weekend we had a lovely bunch of learners investigating how wood can be used as a companion material for making with clay with Arvinda

Next week, our new course ‘What Wood Clay Do?’ begins, which is more investigations along these lines. There’s one little spot left due to a last minute cancellation. Yours if you want it!

Make a Candle!

Well, we have one of these coming up but you sold it out before we had a chance to tell you about it. I’ve taken the hint and added another date. Come along to the studio on October 24th to make a pot out of clay. Return a month later to transform your pot into a candle using soy wax and essential oils. Isn’t that a gorgeous way to spend a few Autumn afternoons?
