Some days are just Soul Food, here I am with my friend Phoenix 🐦‍🔥 the Fairy 🧚 having a Fairy Bubble Party at Mirfield Gardens, a community Garden in Blackley Manchester, I’ve known Phoenix a few years now and her Mom has sent me a few photos and videos from a few events, it has delighted me beyond words, and means the world 🌎💞 🤹‍♀️ 🫧🌈🦄 expect a few more of the past instalments of Phoenix the Fairy and Vegatable Stu, over the next few days, when I have chance to 💨 as I take a breath 🧘‍♂️ from the hectic Summer 😎😵‍💫🥳🌞 season , thanks 🤩 🙏 Donna xx

Ayesha is 8 years old, her Mom is Eritrean 🇪🇷 she was born in Sweden 🇸🇪 and speaks fluent Swedish 🇸🇪 and English 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 she is super polite, is a great listener, tries really hard and is lots of fun, we played for an hour and a half in Madeley library near Telford, thanks to Kerry and Sue, whilst we played her Mom was quite worried because she couldn’t contact her husband who is still stuck in Sweden, but we had lots of giggles and did lots of super circus tricks and even her Mom smiled and laughed, Ayesha is a fab hula hooper, and I thought she had a hula hoop at home coz she was so good at it, and that’s how she spoke but then at the end of course I worked out she didn’t have one to practice with, I try to never give equipment away coz I’m just not wealthy enough and I meet so many worthy children, but Ayesha deserved a lovely pink hoop coz it’s her favourite colour, in return she promised she’d practise and get better at speaking Eritrean 🇪🇷 I learned all this meeting and playing and chatting with my new friend Ayesha, if anyone doubts the importance of the arts 🎭 in community and psychological health and social cohesion, i will direct them to Madeley library, I had 1 ☝️ child all morning coz it was -3 🥶 outside, and it was still one of my favourite days of the year because of meeting and playing with Ayesha , peace to all 💞✊Xx

A couple of things struck me about ME today, firstly it popped in my head apropo of nothing, I think I was carrying something to the car, and I thought what would I say my favourite feature was if someone asked me? And the thing I instantly thought 💭 was my kind smile, kind eyes and a face that makes children laugh, I don’t know whether it is, but that was instantly what sprang to mind, it’s just a slightly random extension of my ego nudging myself for reassurance, as this is, also, no doubt 🤨but I think it says something wholesome about me, and that is, well, reassuring, as my life has been less than wholesome for the most part 🥴😖😳
And secondly, and lastly you’ll be glad to hear, is that I realised, I think whilst I was feeding the fish 🐠 that the major relationship in my life after my Mom, was with my mobile phone 📲 now mom has dementia so that relationship is built on shifting sands, and my phone doesn’t appreciate my kind eyes, it would all be desperately forlorn, if it weren’t for the raucous laughter of the fish 🐟 that I catch as I stare at my melancholic reflection in the glass of their illuminated tank, ho-hum, at least the raspberries are out…

Mirfield Community Gardens, Blackley, Manchester in the Summer is always one of my favourite gigs, this is Roman and Phoenix, and before you ask yes they are superheroes 🦸🏽‍♂️ 🦸‍♀️ their Mom very kindly took these photos of us, Roman is always really excited to hang out coz he’s a ninja 🥷🏻 in disguise 🥸 and her Mom was so proud of Phoenix coz she’s normally really shy, she was kind enough to want to give me not one but two mega mini hugs and they both, children and the hugs, made my day🤗 note: the observant amongst you will notice this is the Christmas 🎄 event, and it was 0c x windchill and was one of my top 3 coldest gigs in 20 years, but I still love and have total respect ✊ 🫡 for the guys at Mirfield, though my toes and fingers felt differently 🥴🥶🤪💞🎅🏽☮️🫶peace to all xx

Worth saying, I’m always the first to post the digs, kudos to this guy and the many others like him 💪🎄👏

“So this happened in Montana. I'm on my way to go to my interview this morning when I get pulled over by a police officer.

I am native American and my friend that was with me is black. Just saying.

Both brake lights decided to go out this time.

As he walked to the car and I was pulling out my stuff, he quickly said,

"Don't worry about pulling anything out. I just want you to know that your brake lights are out."

So I'm immediately upset, because I just got them replaced like last month.

So I explained to him how Firestone wants to charge me $600 just to run a test on the wiring of the car.

He looked at me like 😨 and told me to pop the trunk.

He checked the lights in the trunk and tapped them, but they didn't come on.

So he told me to pop the hood to check the relay box then asked me to get out to check the other one.

Then worked on the wiring under the dash.

He could've easily given me a ticket, but Officer Jenkins stepped out of officer role, and into mechanic role, and human role to make sure I was straight.

By the way HE FIXED THEM. Not everyone is racist, or a bad cop.”
