Actively devoted to promoting classical music to a wider audience, Wanshu performs as a soloist, chamber musician, and regularly appears in professional orchestras. Enrolled at Royal Northern College of Music in 2017 with scholarship, she studied viola with Susie Meszaros & Veit Hertenstein, where she finished her honours in 1st class. She was awarded full scholarship and bursaries from the Royal Academy of Music to continue her Masters and Professional Diploma study with Jon Thorne. She was also granted support by British Council and Art Association of China for her study.

She has appeared in Nash Ensemble, Aurora Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, Manchester Collective, the Hallé and BBC Philharmonic. She was invited for interviews with BBC Radio 3 in 2021 and UKVI in 2022 for her exceptional work and discuss her inspiration in music. As the current Fellows of the Open Academy/Wigmore Hall Learning Programme. She appears regularly on the Wigmore Hall stage with the Kyan Quartet.

Introducing our soloist Xander Croft 🎶🎶

In 2011, Xander received a Music and Dance scheme Scholarship to study violin and piano at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music. Initially under the tutelage of Ulla Benz, he began learning with Steven Wilkie in 2013, and is currently a student of Maureen Smith, Henk Guittart and Marc Danel. In 2017, Xander was awarded the Albert and Eugenie Frost Trust Scholarship to attend the RNCM.

After graduating, he became a Junior Fellow in Chamber Music at the RNCM as a member of the Elmore String Quartet, a position he held for two years. The Quartet are delighted to have been appointed as Hans Keller Chamber Fellows at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, commencing 2023.

Didier is a recent graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music. During his bachelor’s degree at the RNCM (2017-2021), he studied under the tutelage of Yossi Zivoni. He has just completed the college’s Quartet Studio course with the Levaré Quartet. When he’s not playing classical music, Didier is a keen improviser and enjoys exploring both jazz and free improvisation.

Didier plays in the Chineke! Orchestra and has had the opportunity to perform in many of Europe’s most recognised venues as a member of the ensemble. In September 2017 and 2022 he was thrilled to perform in the orchestra at the BBC Proms and has been a player on three of their studio albums. Didier has been leader of the Carme Ensemble since its formation in 2021.

We are absolutely overwhelmed with the success that was our debut concert! ✨ the ensemble gave an exceptional performance to a full house, and we are so grateful for everyone’s hard work throughout this project! Thank you so much to everyone who came to support us too - it was lovely to perform to such an appreciative audience! 😊

Just over one week to go! Introducing our leader! Didier Osindero!!!

Didier is a violinist studying at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he has been awarded an ABRSM scholarship. He studies the violin with Yossi Zivoni but enjoys playing piano as his second instrument. Didier is currently first violin of the Levaré Quartet. He also plays jazz and produces his own music.
