Some beautiful pieces created in the studio, where creativity becomes a moment of calm, connection and wellbeing.

This first piece was created by a mum who came along with her daughter and rediscovered her love, passion and confidence in drawing.

Sometimes, creating together helps us find a little piece of ourselves again. 🤍

What a special day!

Yesterday we brought Ways of Seeing to Stretford as part of The Unofficial Stretford Museum programme (Stretford Town Centre ) with an exhibition, Sketch Walk, zine-making and creative activities. 💛

The exhibition brings together paintings by my students, inspired by their daily lives and imagination, alongside my work and contributions from the community.

Despite the rain, we still headed out for our Stretford Sketch Walk! ☔️✏️ We explored the streets with pencils and cameras, then came back to develop our sketches with watercolour.

It was lovely to see people getting creative — drawing, making zines and adding their own work to the Community Drawing Wall.

And a big thank you to everyone who joined Mary’s live portrait drawing yesterday! ❤️ She loved meeting and drawing everyone!

Free Ways of Seeing prompt zines are also available to take home, so you can continue your own Stretford sketch journey. ✏️

Alongside the exhibition, we shared my students’ photography of natural spaces around Manchester and some of my urban sketches of Manchester and Stretford.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and made yesterday so special. ❤️

There’s another creative takeover coming to The Unofficial Stretford Museum!

Up next, artist Wingyu is bringing Ways of Seeing to Stretford - a community art project exploring the different ways we notice, experience and connect with the town.

Come along to the free drop-in workshops on 29th August, where you can head out on a short sketch walk, get creative with drawing, collage and zine-making, or simply share a memory, feeling or favourite spot in Stretford.

No art experience needed, just come along and see Stretford from a different perspective. You can even add your creation to the community drawing wall, which will grow throughout the exhibition into a collective artwork made up of the people who know Stretford best.

Had another lovely afternoon at OT Creative Space OT creative space with artist .r.t.by.t . It was so refreshing to spend time creating, experimenting, and simply enjoying the process.
It was the perfect opportunity to reset, recharge, and make space for creativity in the middle of a busy life. 🫶🏻
