🔥 NEW SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT 🔥

Relationships and morality. Love and ethics. At what point do good deeds become dangerous? And what do you do when your partner disagrees on how to make the world a better place? In Good Conscience is a brand-new two-hander play grappling the perils of protest, polarity, and grassroots politics. Audiences can expect dark comedy, tension, and maybe even a hint of danger...

In Good Conscience marks the return of award-winning Red Line Theatre to the Greater Manchester Fringe after their critically acclaimed debut show, Dear Eliza, won “Best Play” at the festival in 2024. With Dear Eliza hailed “fringe theatre at its best” (British Theatre Guide), a “much watch performance” (Better Than Words), and “captivating from start to finish” (A Youngish Perspective), In Good Conscience promises to be another gritty and darkly funny original drama debuting in Manchester this summer.

Red Line Theatre's "powerhouse" Artistic Director Barbara Diesel joins forces with Oli Wyatt, an actor trained in devised theatre-making, to co-create this electric and urgent new show.

In Good Conscience is coming to the iconic Kings Arms Theatre in Salford on the 11th July (9pm), 12th July (5pm), and 13th-14th July (7pm). Tickets are just £12-10 with concessions available.

UPDATE for our Collaborator Call Out!

We've had a couple of queries on this role so we wanted to be a bit clearer - this is not a performing role! It’s for a collaborator to be in the room with our actor-creators as we develop and refine the show together, more like a director/third eye. Apologies to anyone who thought there was a performance element to the call-out!

Full information:

Red Line Theatre are looking for a collaborator to join the team for the development of a new show we are bringing to the Greater Manchester Fringe Festival this July. We are previous award-winners at the Fringe.

This will be a profit share production. Please note that this is not a performance role.

The ideal collaborator will be someone with:

* Experience in directing, devising, and/or dramaturgical support
* A collaborative approach to creating work
* An interest in work themed around activism, morality, power dynamics, and social justice
* Decent availability throughout June

If you think this could be you, please get in touch by midnight on May 31st by emailing
[email protected]

In your email, let us know a little bit about your experience, why you think you might be a good fit for the team, and the kind of work you are interested in creating.

Early applications are strongly encouraged, as we may be reaching out throughout this process.

We encourage you to get in touch regardless of your prior experience. We are more interested in finding a good fit for the team than the person with the longest CV!

"This was a brilliant and brave event. Difficult subject material unpackaged well. I laughed and I cried and came away feeling moved."

Lived Experiences 2026 is officially over and out! We are over the moon to have sold out the event and received such wonderful audience feedback - take a look at just a handful of the comments we've received so far 🤩

We won't sugar coat it. At the end of the day, Lived Experiences IS a new-writing event; every single short play was new and still a work-in-progress! Our audience feedback forms therefore play a really vital role in the future growth and refinement of these pieces, should the playwrights and teams choose to develop them. So, yes - these quotes are the best tidbits we wanted to show off. But if these are some of the comments that our creatives are receiving now, we can't WAIT to see what comes next 🙌🥳

If you haven't filled out your feedback form, PLEASE do. Whether a positive review or a suggestion for how to improve, it all really does help our creatives: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdheycePIedXVH8NoqPVrw20SsbuhtERXDCEu0fkYW8c8vksw/viewform?usp=header

We're also thrilled to have raised money for our wonderful charity partner , as well as raising some funds that will go directly towards creating more future projects like this one! (We cannot stress enough - we are unpaid, unfunded, and unsupported. We could not do this without audience support, so thank you!)

"Brilliant. This should absolutely be a regular event. The fear often inherent in discussing mental health was totally eradicated by the warm supportive nature of the evening and the range of exciting pieces shown."

That's all for Lived Experiences...until next year? 👀

Meet Adam, our wonderful technician for Lived Experiences 2026!

Adam actually performed at Lived Experiences last year with his play, REFLECTION. We couldn't ask for a better person to join the team and be our final jigsaw piece in bringing these stories to the stage next Friday.

Tickets are selling quickly, so book soon 🎟️

ABOUT LIVED EXPERIENCES:

Returning to the Salford Arts Theatre this May, Lived Experiences is a new writing event raising awareness for mental health issues. Held in conjunction with Mental Health Awareness week, and partnered with the charity Back On Track, Lived Experiences will showcase 7 fantastic and brand-new short plays. The plays range from comedy to drama, naturalism to absurdism.

Please be advised that some pieces will feature strong language and potentially triggering content; the recommended age is therefore 16+. A full list of trigger warnings will be available ahead of and on the night and re-iterated at the introduction of each play, with opportunities for audiences to step out between each piece. Mental health resources will be available.

Tickets are £10-13, with concessions available. You can book them NOW via the link in our bio, or by going to https://www.ticketsource.com/null/t-dkkqpyr
