“Qualia have traditionally been thought to be intrinsic qualities of experience that are directly available to introspection.”

We plan to birth a place of connection and expression, with yourself and others around you. Forming a safe and welcoming community and a catalyst for the development of ineffable connections and experiences. Our role within Qualia, as is our ongoing objective, is also to

present the highest quality of underground electronic music. Music that we hope will inspire you to journey either inwards or beyond the self, pushing the limitations of introspection and connection. The inspiration for Qualia stems from the legacy and awe-inspiring work of the late Andrew Weatherall, along with a personal and societal need to reconnect and reflect upon ourselves and other bodies in the aftermath of lockdowns and isolation. What distinguishes us from all other species is our ability to contemplate, to ruminate, to see ourselves beyond instinct. We will achieve this not through scientific or philosophical debate, but through a more holy medium, music.

Starting 2023 as we mean to go on, we return to our trusted home for our first party of the year. On the 10th February we invite underground legend Derek Carr to the turntables to see us through the evening.

Hailing from Mullingar Ireland, Carr has been producing electronic music since 1988 and has a comprehensive discography and knowledge to draw from when put before a crowd. His productions delve into the realms of Detroit Techno, Dub Techno and Deep House. Rest assured, we are in safe hands for the evening.

Kicking things off we have Qualia’s own, Luke Whitt & Ma.

Qualia are back…

With temperatures rising and day light hours lengthening, we felt it was only fitting to return with a day party. We are taking over the outdoor space at The DBA on Saturday the 9th of July with tickets at £5.

The line up is made up of both Qualia residents alongside some DJ’s we felt fitting for the occasion.

We cannot wait to dance with you again…

We are delighted to share our second event with you.

We have invited Mosaic Records founder Steve O’Sullivan to Kable Club, Manchester. Performing as only a live artist, Steve produces “Deep techno with a side helping of dub & house”. Steve’s discography demands attention, and we are certain his live set will do the same. Expect hypnotic melodics and percussion perfectly crafted for the dancefloor.

We have also invited Yaniv (Above Below) and Daniel (Above Below/Qualia) to kick things off. Yaniv featured on our mix series back in 2021 and we felt it was only right for him to feature at our second edition. Daniel’s discography is one to admire. His sets are curated with care and his prowess behind the decks is clear, you're in good hands.
