The tree people have been and gone. They lopped off the top 20 or so feet of the offending tree who's rotten branches caused me so much damage just before Christmas. I can finally start getting the shredded canopy replaced now. Meanwhile the snow continues to fall and in spite of not what I really want, it does make Astaria look quite pretty doesn't it? My sincerest thanks to Essex ARB (tree people) for doing such a wonderful job

First of all may we wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year for 2018. Secondly, in spite of the damage we suffered on December 10th. Astaria is open as normal for all dates indicated in the previous post. We have been hard at work in making good as much damage as possible and feel that we are "respectable" enough to be open for guests. So please feel free to pop in and say "hello" Don't forget we (and the Museum) are open on New Year's Day) 😄

Astaria will still be open in spite of a lot of damage caused by last Sunday's snowfall. It has caused us some considerable damage so please excuse the mess as we work to repair everything Alan (Totally gutted)

HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO HOLD YOUR CHILD'S BIRTHDAY PARTY IN ASTARIA?
Yes it is possible. Bookings can be made for any afternoon (12 noon - 5pm) Wednesdays to Saturdays - Your choice - you choose. We will open Astaria for your own party group (Max. 30 children please) All you have to do is bring your own refreshments and maybe a blanket for your child to sit on. Astaria will be closed to the public for the duration of your party
(We are not child minders - A responsible adult will need to stay with their kids please)

To each and every one of our visitors to our Candlelight Spectacular evenings. Visitor numbers were at a record on both nights. Fantastic. It made all the work worthwhile seeing so many happy faces on both evenings.
