It’s time for another meet the teacher!!

And today we celebrate our lovely dance teacher, Jenni, who teaches ballet, tap and jazz at EDC!

Jenni started dancing at the age of 3 and then went on to train professionally at London Studio Centre where she graduated in 2021 with a BA Hons in Theatre Dance with specialism in Jazz Dance. She trained as part of the LSC Jazz Company under the directorship of Robbie O’Reilly. During which she performed with a number of internationally renound choreographers including Matt Cole, Adrian Gas and Dane Bates. She has performed on a number of West End Stages and holds associate teaching qualifications in classical ballet and associated styles with both the NATD and IDTA.

👑 Day one of our get-in for Six: Teen Edition is officially complete! 🎬

Today, our incredible production team crushed it:
💡 Our lighting Designer, Oscar, installed a rig of fabulous lighting…
✨ Our Assistant Director, John, helped hang our glamorous backdrop and sign…
💃 Our Assistant Designer, Ray, hung up our costumes ready for a dress run….
🥁 Our powerhouse band patched in and started a sound check…
🎨 Our Assistant Technician, Ethan, started plotting some iconic lights…

All whilst our amazing cast were busy rehearsing in the studio, getting ready to hit the stage for their first walkthrough tomorrow! 💥

Every year we have a talent show within our presentation evening. This year it is our 10 Year Gala Celebration and so we had to go bigger! ✨ This year the winner of the Gala Talent Show will be awarded a SOLO spot in our upcoming 10 Year Anniversary Production, “The Heist”! 👏

It’s time for another meet the teacher!!

And today we celebrate Ryan, Company Manager and he heads up stage school.

Have a look at his Q&A and some memories from his time at EDC. Before you read more about him, below is an addition to his Q&A for his fave memory of EDC that we just couldn’t trim down 😉
“There have been so many moments at EDC that have made me so proud of our kids- The Winter Recitals, the Disney tours, sometimes a random class on a weekday can make me tear up (in a good way!)”

Ryan trained in Musical Theatre at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and brings over 20 years of experience across all facets of the arts, onstage, backstage, and front of house. When the pandemic brought the Theatre world to a halt, he went on to read Law at Birkbeck University of London, graduating in 2023.

Despite his legal credentials, Ryan’s heart remains firmly in the arts and creativity. A self-taught musician and keen performer, he recently starred as ‘Drew’ in the Kentish Players’ production of Rock of Ages.

This summer, you can find him in the pit rather than the wings… He will be the Musical Director on Keys in Six: Teen Edition at the Glassbox Theatre (30th May) and conducting the band for We Will Rock You at the Central Theatre (4th–6th June).

When he isn’t involved in a production, Ryan trades the baton for the steering wheel as the owner of , Maidstone’s premier automatic driving school, where he serves as an Approved Driving Instructor.

We had a great Sunday at Vibe Dance Comp in Essex yesterday! We were so proud of our students, many of who positioned - and getting the overall winners award too. Just look at those awards!!!!

And we are also proud of our wonderful dance teachers who have been involved in choreographing for Performers this season. EDC won the choreography award! Thanks to Jenni for accepting the award on our behalf! ♥️👏
