To all who contributed to Littlefest 2019 we have received the following message from Eliana's mum Catherine:
Thank you for your kind donation to Support Eliana’s upcoming surgery.
We have now booked Eliana’s surgery date for 22nd of October and we fly out on the 19th of October for our consultation and pre Op assessment.
We fly into Chicago and then will say one night there and will then drive to St Louis. It’s a 5 hour drive but will save the cost of internal flights!
Eliana will be almost 3 years post SDR surgery when she has this one. She has no memory of her time in St Louis Children’s Hospital (which is just as well!!!)
This surgery release the muscle in her right leg. Despite a huge commitment to stretching, physio and exercise, the muscle has become tighter and she no longer has the range in it to perform at her best. She tires very easily because her gait is inefficient and in the long term she will suffer from the over usage of the stronger leg. We feel that Eliana has the right to be the best physical version of herself. We want to know that we have given her the best chances despite the obvious challenges that that brings.
Eliana has enough money in her charitable fund to cover her upcoming surgery however there was not sufficient funds to cover her post operative physio costs. Littlefest has kindly donated £2400 to cover the cost of this. Eliana now has the best possible chance of success and for this we are eternally grateful.
We will let you know how she gets on in America 😁
