We’re thrilled to share the wonderful world of reading with your little ones! 🌻 Reading and listening to stories is so important for children- imagine the joy of discovering new adventures through books! 📚

📖 🌻 At the end of each of our workshops, we finish our sessions with a special story time. We choose a book that ties into our theme, sparking conversations and creating lasting memories for your child! Every book is unique and has direct links to our weekly Sunflower’s Spotlight theme!🌻 📖

We’re proud to have taken part this week in . This year’s theme is “My Voice Matters” 🗣️

A primary school child explained to Place2Be that in schools: “I think there should be more opportunities to talk about our feelings.”

🌻 We are really proud that at the Sunflower Drama Academy, every week the children have opportunities to discuss their feelings. Each week we encourage the children and acknowledge the importance of using their voices and expressing themselves. 🌻

We have been having a fantastic time at the Sunflower Drama Academy and we are SO proud of all of our lovely children each week!

Over the past few weeks, some of the topics we have covered for our Sunflower’s Spotlights are:

In each of our workshops, the children not only focus on drama activities that link to the theme. We always share a story that links to the Sunflower’s Spotlight and draws the workshops full circle! 📖 🔦

🌻KENT BUSINESS AWARDS 🌻

Exciting news! We were so proud to be invited to the Kent Business Awards last night and be shortlisted as finalists in the “Best Customer Service” category.

Our journey at Sunflower Drama Academy revolves around our incredible customers – the children, their parents/guardians, and the schools we partner with. 🌟

Becoming a finalist means the world to us. It’s a heartwarming recognition of our commitment to exceptional customer service and support. A huge shoutout to the children, parents, and schools who’ve shared how we’re impacting their lives through fostering mental health, well-being, and personal development.

Some of you may have seen last week we did some special filming for the Award Ceremony- it was great to have a chance to speak in front of 600 people about why we are so passionate about the Sunflower Drama Academy and what we do! 🎭 🌟

Everything we do is dedicated to our customers, and this acknowledgment fills us with immense pride. Thank you for being part of our journey! Although we didn’t win last night we are SO proud to have been a finalist in this category.🌟

Here are some photos from the last few weeks. We have LOVED being back after half term and have had a fantastic few weeks at the Sunflower Drama Academy. Our Sunflower Spotlights have been:

🌻 Memories- we showed our respect for Remembrance Day at the Sunflower Drama Academy.

🌻Accepting others with Kindness - As part of ‘Anti-bullying week’, we focused on how important it is to be kind to ourselves and others.

We are wishing all of our wonderful pupils a very Happy Half-Term at the Sunflower Drama Academy!

We are SO proud of all our pupils and what they have achieved this term.

We have loved welcoming new students and witnessing students return. It has been wonderful to see the children blossom in their confidence, personal development and drama skills! 🎭 🌻

We are already looking forward to next term, bookings are open on our website for our workshops next term.

🌻 Proud Moment at the Sunflower Drama Academy! 🌻

We're thrilled to announce our achievement - being "Highly Commended" at the Kent Mental Wellbeing Awards! 🏆 The judging panel have praised the Sunflower Drama Academy on our dedication and initiatives towards children’s wellbeing.

At the Sunflower Drama Academy, we put children's mental health and wellbeing front and center in all that we do. ✨

Our Sunflower's Spotlight themes and custom drama workshops are crafted to help children navigate important aspects of their wellbeing. Each week, we create a safe space for nurturing the children’s growth.🌻

Huge thanks to all who nominated us and support us in everything that we are doing! 😌

It is SO lovely to be back with our regular weekly workshops after the summer break! Receiving notes like this from children truly warms our hearts. “Thank you for making my life fun!” Seeing the true joy and happiness on the children’s faces every week makes us so proud!

🌻 CELEBRATION 🌻

We focused on "celebration" for our Sunflower's Spotlight, as we celebrate all the wonderful things the children have achieved this academic year.

At the beginning of our workshops, the children shared what they had enjoyed most about the Sunflower Drama Academy this year. Hearing their responses was truly heartwarming. The common responses included:

🌻 Meeting others and making new friends
🌻 Having fun, sharing laughter, and memories
🌻 Being able to share feelings
🌻 Hearing what the Sunflower's Spotlight is each week
🌻 Gaining confidence

The fact that many children were not only able to recognise this development in confidence in themselves, but also share this openly in front of the rest of the group was truly amazing to hear. It makes us SO proud to see the incredible development with our wonderful children, particularly the development in their confidence and wellbeing!

We wish all of our children who have participated in our regular workshops this academic year a truly wonderful summer, and we look forward to seeing you in September! 🌻
