Celebrating Cara 💛 swipe for a very sweet throwback!

Ten years ago, a little girl walked into my class, following in the footsteps of her big sister before her.

This month, Cara completed her Grade 8 exam and achieved an amazing result (alongside all of her school exams)! The qualification itself is a fantastic achievement, carrying the equivalent of an AS Level worth of UCAS points, but what I'll remember most are the ten years of memories, friendship, laughter and watching her grow up.

Cara, it has been an absolute privilege to be part of your story and I know you're only getting started. I am so proud of the kind, caring person you are and everything you've achieved over the years. I'll really miss seeing you in class each week.

Very excited to be part of the summer programme at Seamus Heaney HomePlace this year 🎭

For the first time, I'll be delivering Backstage Pass, a brand new performing arts week for children who love to sing, dance, act and get creative. Over the course of the week we'll explore all things theatre before bringing everything together in a small showcase for family and friends at the end.

It's shaping up to be a brilliant week and I can't wait to get started.

That's a wrap on Tea & Biscuits Club for another year. 🤍

One of my favourite parts of the week. Yes, we do drama, but it's always been about much more than that. It's about showing up exactly as you are, finding your people, having a laugh, talking through life, and learning how to be a good friend, to others and to yourself.

I'll miss these girls over the summer and I'm very grateful for all the chats, chaos, honesty and biscuits we've shared this year. See you in September 💕

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Cathal 🌟

Cathal volunteers through a partnership with Mid Ulster Volunteer Centre and the Northern Health and Social Care Trust Day opportunities team as a Creative Arts Assistant with CMAC Creative Arts & Wellbeing every Monday.

From supporting performing arts programmes for adults with learning disabilities to assisting behind the scenes on the recent Suitcases and Skies production at the Ulster Hall, Cathal brings enthusiasm, creativity and positivity to everything he does.

CMAC describe Cathal as a “vibrant, enthusiastic and truly valued” member of their team. His ability to support others, build confidence, create a welcoming atmosphere and bring energy and humour to every session has made a real impact on both participants and staff alike.

Cathal’s growth in communication, confidence and performance skills has been incredible to see, and he continues to inspire those around him through his dedication and commitment to volunteering.

Thank you, Cathal, for making such a positive difference in your community. We are proud to celebrate your achievements and the impact you make every week! 👏✨
