The word “coire” has a range of meanings including “cauldron” and “amphitheatre” and it has become a creative focus for our community to develop and refine it’s identity and cultural expression. An Coire is located within the former business units at An Carn, which have been converted into an Arts Centre and multi-purpose venue to provide the opportunity for the local creative talent to flourish.
On the ground floor it consists of an Art Studio, a Craft Workshop, a Recording Studio and it has a seated foyer which is perfect for small functions, music sessions etc. On the first floor, An Halla Mór is a multi-purpose space that will seat up to 220 people for drama, concerts, private functions, etc. With the seating retracted the upper floor provides a flat floor, suitable for a range of uses including keep fit classes, dancing, art exhibitions etc. An Coire’s facilities are available for a range of private functions including:
