What a lovely morning spent enjoying some Halloween arts & crafts at the Art Room. Our little artists enjoyed silhouette painting, creating model magic pumpkins and drawing their own haunted houses using metallic markers. Lots of super sketching going on in our sketch books too. We hope our little artists loved it as much as we did. Wishing you all a very Happy Halloween 🎃👻

Finishing off our Summer block of art classes with some Van Gogh inspired sunflowers 🌻 Our talented little artists created these beautiful works using pencil, sharpie, oil pastel and watercolour. What a pleasure it has been, creating art with these wonderful children all year. We hope you all have a lovely summer and we are looking forward to welcoming you all back to The Art Room in the autumn!

Week 4 at The Art Room and our little artists loved rolling and printing their polystyrene creations using printing ink. We also began work on next week’s project - a Van Gogh inspired sunflower painting. I love them already and cannot wait to see our final artworks next week 🌻👨‍🎨

Week 1 and 2 at The Art Room 🐞🍩 Last week, our little artists enjoyed colouring model magic to form their own delicious looking doughnuts! This week, we studied ladybirds using sharpie and watercolour. I am always amazed by how different and unique each finished piece of artwork is! Well done everyone ❤️

Our summer term at The Art Room is open for booking! Dates are Friday:

3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st May (every Friday in May). £50 for the 5 week block, 10% sibling discount. 3.45-4.45pm and 5.00-6.00pm.

Our final week of this block and what a pleasure it has been, getting to know all our little artists and watching them grow in confidence each week. Today we created some wonderful collage work, using painted papers that our artists had made last week. Tomorrow we will post details of our new block at The Art Room 🎨🍦🌷🐠

Week 7 at The Art Room and we completed our beautiful Wet Felting artworks 🌸🌼 I didn’t learn about this wonderful textile until University level Art and I love that we can introduce processes like these to primary school children. I may be bias, but I think they did pretty amazing 🎨😍 we also created painted papers and practised cutting and sticking for next week’s project - collage!

Week 6 at the Art Room and we created some beautiful Easter Bunnies using tempera paint sticks on coloured card. We love how unique they all are to each child! We also began the fun process of wet felting. To be continued after the Easter holiday… wishing you all a very Happy Easter! 🐰🌸🐣

Week 4 and 5 at the Art Room! Over these last two weeks we have been making clay pinch pots with an Easter twist! Our little artists formed oval pinch pots and then chose to decorate as an Easter egg or chick using pearlescent paints and posca pens. We had one very creative little girl who decided to extend her ideas to create an Easter Bunny 🐰 We completed directed drawings of puppies using sharpie markers on natural coloured sugar paper. And lots of spring creations in our sketch books 🥰
