KEMS King Edward Musical Society: Macclesfield Singers, Symphony Orchestra, Concert Band & Contemporary

Who we are
We’re a music society comprising three sections: a large mixed-voice Choir, an Orchestra and a Concert Band. Our friendly members, who cover a wide age range, have one thing in common: we take making music very seriously, always striving for the best possible performances. The Society celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2006-7 with a performance of Verdi's Requiem at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester

Did somebody say Picnic Concert? 🧺 🍾 🥂

We are delighted to share that King Edward Musical Society (KEMS) Macclesfield Concert Band will be playing at the Bandstand in the Royal Avenue Gardens on Sunday 23rd August 11:00 - 13:30.

The band’s repertoire comprises musicals, film themes, popular jazz/swing, as well as items from the classic concert band repertoire. They perform in churches, community halls, bandstands (like ours!) and, on one occasion, gave a concert in a quarry 😃

This is such perfect music to accompany a summer Sunday lunch al fresco, so bring your picnic blankets or chairs, picky bits and a cheeky drink…..and enjoy two wonderful hours with friends and family while listening to this accomplished concert band!

Another great afternoon of entertainment from Macclesfield Concert Band. And the weather was fine too! The only thing sadly missing was Granelli's ice cream van due to illness. Hopefully better soon. Thank you to everyone who came along.

Next KEMS event is on Sunday 5th July, 2pm in the Bandstand at Victoria Park. Macclesfield Concert Band will be back in their usual slot bringing you lots of popular tunes. If you missed them at Tegg's Nose, this is another chance to hear them, so DO come along. The concert is free of charge.
(The concert will only be cancelled if there is bad weather on the day)
