Making my own substrates to work on has always been an aim of mine. These delicious natural colours have marks made by using either acid, alkaline or iron which modify the natural dyes. I have started to stitch on the stripes which have been inspired by the silk sample books The workshop run by and .1964 was informative and Inspiring. I intend mounting the finished pieces maybe a fabric book!?

What’s on my knee today???? I’m taking part in the project at the Macclesfield. We are creating Macclesfield’s answer to the which is returning to the UK this year. A community project headed by and These are my trees medieval style. Lots of split stitch and Bayeaux stitch with naturally dyed wool.

Ten days to go until the final day of Stitch by Stitch exhibition in Oswestry. Everyone who has been has been very complimentary about the range and quality of work. I was so honoured to have my piece ‘Cotinus Rain’ selected. It is botanical printed wool that is embellished with naturally dyed threads. I’ll be there on the last Sat afternoon , 30th August. Maybe see you there. Thank you and for organising an excellent exhibition.
