OUTDOOR THEATRE AT LYTHAM HALL …..coming very soon.....

The magic, mystery and mayhem of Shakespeare’s popular comedy- ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ opens the Lytham Hall outdoor theatre this year.

A host of A listers have taken on take on the role on stage or film as Titania. Dame Judi Dench (no fewer than six times), Michelle Pfeiffer and Maxine Peake head the luminaries.

Juliet Stevenson, the international celebrity Patron for the Lytham Hall season this year, was widely praised for her "wonderfully lyrical voice and athletic physicality”, as Titania in the acclaimed production by the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1981.

The fairies – Mustard Seed, Moth, Cobweb and the wonderfully named Peasblossom - were wooden puppets voiced by humans.

Six immersive promenade performances at Lytham Hall, start on June 16. With the experienced Rosie Withers and Carol Morley directing and Lytham Festival co-founder Peter Taylor producing, a feast for the eyes and the ears is in prospect.

JULIET ANSWERS AN INVITATION FROM LYTHAM HALL
Acclaimed actress Juliet Stevenson has agreed to an invitation from Lytham Hall’s theatre manager Julian Wilde to be the International Celebrity for this summer’s 17th season of plays at the Hall.
The programme opens with six promenade performances of Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ from 16 to 21 June.
Juliet Stevenson’s stellar career in the theatre began with the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1978.
After just four years she played the lead role of Titania in their production of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ at Stratford and on a national tour.
She won the 1992 Olivier Award as best stage actress and was appointed CBE by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth in 1999.
As this summer’s international Celebrity Patron Juliet joins the Lancashire Celebrity Patron Graham Liver, the popular presenter of BBC Radio Lancashire’s breakfast show.
Messages from both will be included in the welcome programme handed out to the 3000 playgoers expected to attend this summer’s six plays.
