Getting a strong performance out of your actors is a task for any director - and the same goes for an actor wanting to explore ideas with their collaborators to really bring a character to life.

Next Saturday festival judge, actress and director Kathryn Georghiou will lead a workshop exploring the relationship between the actor and the director. Having appeared in Casualty, Waking the Dead and LYIFF 2024-selected short The Heritage, alongside directing her short film Changing Tides, she knows plenty of tips that the next generation of performers can use across both fields.

It's an eye-opening study of urban ecology that challenges how we perceive our cities and the ecosystems we share.
