The Crafty Cottage is a Lancashire-based family-run business taking a whole new approach to recycling. We don’t just up-cycle or ‘shabby chic’, we look at each item individually and let it guide us in the way it needs to be restored, renovated and reloved. It’s this approach that makes us as unique as our products – each item is a genuine one-off so once it’s gone, there will never be another. So

The race to be crowned Best Shop is hotting up, with over 3,000 votes already cast.

And thanks to local resident Margaret Race, the winning shop will now have its name added to a real piece of local history. 🏆

In 1953, Margaret’s grandfather, Alderman J. H. Dawson, donated a solid silver trophy to be awarded annually to a winning local shop.

The competition was run by the Lytham St Annes Chamber of Trade, with the trophy first presented to mark the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.

Previous winners included Shaw Sturges Ltd in 1953, Judith for Jaeger in 1962, Eve Boutique in 1963, and Raymond Coupe in 1964.

A huge thank you to Margaret. I look forward to adding the winner of this year’s competition to the Dawson Trophy once voting closes at the end of August.
