Huge thanks to all those people, and their dogs, that came out on Saturday to support the 2026 Lympstone Furry Dance!

We enjoyed the Boney Stone Memorial match, which was followed by the much anticipated dog show, then the Fancy Dress competition! This year's fancy dress outfits were amazing! There was a great level of creativity, thought and effort in the costumes this year!

The dance was brilliantly supported with a wonderful procession of colourfully costumed dancers!

We couldn't do this without the sponsors and donators of funds and raffle prizes. Thanks to them all for making this great family event possible.

We look forward to seeing you again in 2027!

🌞 the furry dance is on Saturday and we are so excited! 🌞
We will be open from 9-6 for all of our usuals, we have loads of cakes, cookies, brownies, cinnamon buns, banana bread and cheesecake on the go getting ready for Saturday!
Our kitchen will be open as usual 9-4 with our full menu available until sold out!
We also have a very exciting announcement… Cortona Gelato Lab will be joining us! With a gazebo set up opposite the cafe they have a huge selection of gelatos to fuel you through the day! Have a taste of some exclusive flavours and talk to the people that make it!!
At 6 we will be closing up shop and joining in with the day, this is our first furry dance and we’re very excited to experience it and join in with the fun! So much so that we will be opening at 11 on Sunday! (Sorry! But I think we may be a little… tired!)

A little history of the furry dance: “The exact origins of the dance have been lost in time, however, it is believed that it celebrated the safe return of local fishermen who had been trading their fish for furs in Novia Scotia in the 1800s. After months away, wives and children would welcome their husbands, sweethearts and fathers home, dancing through the streets.”

🚨 NEWNESS ALERT 🚨

New for 2026, we have some activity planned on Front Meadow.

After the Lympstone Academy Brass and Lympstone Band, along with all the dancers, have completed the first leg of the Furry Dance and are assembled on Front Meadow, we have live music courtesy of H***h, and a refreshment stand!

H***h are a local five piece, band playing mostly 1940s songs that you can sing and dance along too.

We will also have a Spritz Bar, where you can get a range of drinks, with all proceeds going towards keeping our Furry Dance dancing.

After the village bands have finished their break and move the Furry Dance back to the village center, H***h and the bar will remain on Front Meadow, in case you fancy a more sedate end to your Furry Dance...

We have lots planned for this year's Furry Dance, starting early with live music outside The Swan. Activity on Cliff Field (up the path from the train station) starts from 12 o'clock with the Boney Stone Memorial.
New for this year: while the Lympstone Academy Brass and Lympstone Band take a well earned breather after the first half of the procession, live music will be provided by H***h, a 1940s style five piece, on Front Meadow!
We have even more planned, so watch this space for details.

Yee-haw – They’re Back!
The Lympstone Furry Dance Committee is absolutely delighted to announce the return of Not The Cowboys for another fundraising night at Lympstone Village Hall on Friday, 12th June 2026.

Anyone who joined us last year will already know what a cracking evening this promises to be. For those yet to experience them, Not The Cowboys deliver a non-stop medley of well-known covers, all re-imagined in their unmistakable cowboy style. It’s energetic, infectious, and all but guaranteed to have even the most reluctant dancer up on their feet before the night is out.

Doors open at 7:30pm, with stagecoaches rolling back to your ranches at 11.00pm. There will be a bar available throughout the evening, and guests are positively encouraged to dust off their stetsons, boots and bandanas for what has firmly established itself as Lympstone’s greatest Wild West–themed night of the year.

Tickets are £12.50 (booking fees apply) and full details, including the booking link, can be found on the attached poster.

Based on last year’s runaway success, this event is expected to sell out quickly as numbers are strictly limited, so we’d strongly encourage you to book early to avoid disappointment.
Saddle up, spread the word, and we look forward to seeing you there for another unforgettable night in aid of the Furry Dance. Please note this event is over-18’s only.
