Solent Music Festival The 2026 festival will take place from 25-31 May. The Solent Music Festival brings an exciting musical concept to the Solent area.

World- class musicians will perform in a variety of ensembles inspired by concerts typical of the romantic era. Thus a single programme can contain a myriad of talents - singers, a string quartet, solo piano - providing a feast of classical music to delight audiences of all ages.

A huge thank you to everyone who submitted entries to the 2026 Lawson-May Award for Composition. It was a huge pleasure and privilege to listen to them all - really inspiring.

Many congratulations to our winners Dario Argentesi and Thomas Haupt and to our finalists! The world premiere of Dario's The Sad Snake will be given at the Solent Music Festival on Tuesday 26 May at 11am in our Family Concert and at 7 in our evening concert 'Sam and Friends'

Details of the 2027 award will be published shortly.
