We are very excited to be welcoming Catarina Diaz to the gallery in the near future .
Catarina is an award winning artist described by BBC art critic and curator Maeve Doyle as creating
“ very, very transcendent pieces mixing realism with naturalism & spirituality “. Diaz works across analogue collage, oil painting and mixed media using chiaroscuro to illuminate her inner journeys.
Mentored by Royal Academician David Mach and and honoured by the President of Portugal for her artistic contribution, she has developed a distinctive visual language which merges Rococo elegance with her African Portuguese heritage. In collaboration with Pepita Coffee and the Strawberry Gallery, Catarina will be presenting a selection of her work at the gallery bringing her visual world to the landscape and community. On visiting the open exhibition , amongst a plethora of wonderful works , I came upon this fabulous 3D collage , The Dating Game, by . A 1930’s snakes and ladders board with a bit of updating about finding L💚VE in the 21st century . A must see until 5th July!
