Guitars on the BEACH The UK record attempt for the most guitarists all playing one song together.

The hugely popular annual gig by Britain's Biggest Band of guitarists of all ages an abilities is looking for a new venue for 2023 please get in touch if you are able to assist us. In 2013 2,267 players set the UK record, performing Buddy Holly's Rave On on the Lyme Regis front beach. In 2014 over 3000 people played Status Quo's Rocking All Over The World and Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water sung by frontman Ian Gillan setting a new UK Record.

Tom counted David Crosby as a friend and a hero. He visited often at his house in the valley. He was funny, provocative and electric with talent. His contribution to music will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and love to his family, bandmates and fans.

Unfortunately Guitars on the Beach 2022 is unable to go ahead, many reasons but mainly due to lack of support from Lyme Regis Town Council and other local businesss who every year benifit financially from our event (please note this is not all local businesses we do have a few who have been fantastic over the years along with a couple of indivduals and we appreciate them greatly).

So moving forward we are now looking for a new venue for Guitars on the Beach 2023 and the organisers of GOTB are hoping to put on other small events locally.

Ian Gillan on Russia's war against Ukraine:

"If speaking out means we shall never see our Russian friends again, then that is a big sacrifice, but nothing compared with never again seeing our Ukrainian friends who are being killed to satisfy the psychopathic ambitions of the Russian leader. I would like to see Russians on the streets in their millions, to show their disgust at the Ukrainian invasion, and I’d like to dream that very quickly, Russia can find some modern leadership that will bring them back into the world as friends. We have so much in common."

It is with the deepest regret that we are writing this post to inform you that Guitars on the Beach 2021 will not be taking place.

We have tried our hardest to accommodate all the extra precautions that covid has thrown at us but unfortunately Lyme Regis Town Council have made it very difficult for us to proceed with the event. With the time left we have been unable to find a different suitable venue, therefore we will be putting our effort and time into next years event, venue and date to be confirmed later in the year.

Please keep your comments clean and respectful, we are deeply saddened already and don't require any further upset or anger. We understand many will be disappointed and we are sorry this is not the news you wanted to hear.
