Wycliffe Drama Group – About us

WDG was founded in 1950 and has become one of the Midlands leading amateur drama groups with a reputation for presenting high-quality productions to suit audiences of all tastes.

WDG has received prestigious recognition for many of its productions, including ‘Best Production in Leicestershire and Rutland’ and ‘Leicestershire Pantomime of the Year Award’. The Group has also performed at the Edinburgh Festival to critical acclaim.

The Group stages four or five shows each year: a spring and autumn production, a pantomime, a Christmas entertainment and often a summer concert.

There is also the opportunity for members to join in a variety of social events which include theatre trips, our annual dinner, barbecues, quizzes and anything else our social team can come up with.
