In all seriousness, the woman was unharmed bar a scratch on the hand, according to the report. She believed the bird had been trying to sn**ch away the coffee cup she was holding as she walked.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Yes, it's almost five months after the show, but I thought I'd post this lovely piece of online appreciation I just stumbled across. Posted by a friend of some of the cast members, i believe. Amongst the fairly specific casting criteria, I can't say "must sound like Merida from Brave" was in my thoughts but, hey, some performers just bring that little bit extra! 🤣🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Referring to the wording in the post, the production never said it was the first theatre show *of any kind* with a wheelchair user playing the lead. But 3+ years after publication, I believe it remains the only panto script published where the main character is written to be played by a wheelchair user. And, in terms of its debut in October 2025, I believe there was no prior, comparable pantomime production - amateur or professional - to feature a wheelchair user as the title character.

** Bo Peep Gets Shut In **

This was my 60 minute, 2-act pantomime written in the covid era and intended to be so easy to stage (with just one set and five characters) that it could be rehearsed under the 'rule of six' restrictions then in place and performed outside, if necessary. When the vaccination roll out began, during the period it was still in the process of being published, I assumed that very welcome medical breakthrough would rub out most of its USP.

But people seem to appreciate the quirky simplicity of this Bo Peep, and show her off in some quirky settings. It was debuted in a young farmers panto competition at Western super Mare. It was given another run out as part of my debut and very shoestring presentation with Five Pound Theatre of June 2024. with 3 of the cast receiving Noda nominations.

And I've just heard it was performed in the run up to Christmas 2025 by the arts and community group (REinsTate) that is repurposing the old Tate building in East London that was left derelict in the 90s.

I can't wait to see where she'll pop up next!
