🎉 Scenic Projects Celebrates 30 Years Today 🎉

Today marks a very special milestone as Scenic Projects celebrates its 30th birthday.

For three decades, we have had the privilege of working with hundreds of theatre companies, societies, schools and venues across the UK, helping to bring productions to life and playing our part in transforming the world of stage scenery.

As Directors, we are incredibly proud of what has been achieved over the last 30 years. None of it would have been possible without the dedication, talent and hard work of the many fantastic members of staff who have been part of our journey, and the wonderful customers who have supported us and continue to place their trust in Scenic Projects.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the theatres and their staff around the country. Wherever we have travelled, we have always been made to feel welcome, and we are grateful for the kindness, friendship and support we have received over the years.

We also wish to thank the many professional companies we have had the pleasure of working with, including pantomime producers, production companies and cruise ship entertainment teams. Your confidence in our work and your continued support have been greatly appreciated.

We know the challenges have never been small, and our location has not always made things easy. But from day one, our ambition has remained the same: to bring the very best to amateur theatre through outstanding design, quality products and exceptional service.

The two photographs accompanying this post perfectly illustrate our journey. One shows where it all began: the prototype rain truck for Singin' in the Rain in Martin and Nicks garden in 1996. The other shows our home today at Nelson Wharf in Lowestoft. Looking at them side by side, it's amazing to see just how far we've come.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of our story so far. We are immensely proud of what we have achieved together and excited for what the future holds.

🔨 We're Hiring | Workshop Trainee (Carpentry Bias) 🎭

Do you enjoy building things, working with your hands, and want a career that's anything but ordinary?

We're looking for a Workshop Trainee to join our team at Scenic Projects Ltd in Lowestoft.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from experienced scenic carpenters and work on a huge variety of projects, including:
• Theatre productions
• Touring shows
• Live events
• Cruise ship entertainment

No two days are the same. One week you could be building a West End-style set in our workshop, the next you could be helping install scenery at a theatre somewhere in the UK, or even overseas.

We're looking for someone who is:
✅ Practical and keen to learn
✅ Reliable with a good work ethic
✅ Interested in carpentry, construction, theatre or making things
✅ Happy working as part of a friendly team

Experience isn't essential. If you've got the right attitude, we'll teach you the rest.

If you're looking for a career where you can build incredible things and see them come to life on stage, we'd love to hear from you.

For the next two weeks…

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with Darlington OS is lighting up the Darlington Hippodrome, using a bold combination of our Jesus Christ Superstar set alongside our striking video wall.

We think this pairing looks pretty fantastic - a great example of how flexible scenic elements can be reimagined to create something completely fresh for a new production.
