The featured artist for September at the Riverhead Gallery is IRENA LINGARD.

Irena says “I was brought up in USSR and was shaped by Perestroika, so in a way I am Soviet. I loved Saint Petersburg but I am now settled in Lincolnshire and have my life here.”

“After school I became an apprentice to a ceramicist and I learned the secrets of ceramic restoration. I then went on to study at the Academy of Art at St Petersburg Teacher Training University. It was the time of Perestroika and we had a very experimental course that allowed us to work and experiment as we wanted.”

“After moving to Britain, I studied and worked as a tutor at the Grimsby School of Art. I now live in Ludford on the Lincolnshire Wolds. I draw and paint because it is like washing my face in the mornings, a normal everyday act…but I dream about a ceramic studio again.”

The Riverhead Gallery is open on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday 10am to 1pm (Box Office hours) plus during all theatre performances.

The featured exhibitor for July at the Riverhead Gallery is FRASER MCNICOL of FMC Drone Services.
Having graduated from the University of Wales and after a short spell in the Royal Navy training to be a helicopter pilot, Fraser became captivated by the potential of drone technology to change lives and to create beautiful imagery and video. He is now a highly-qualified remote pilot, with both academic and practical training and certifications, and he has set out to share his passion for flying and photography with a wider audience.
As well as this month’s exhibition at the Riverhead Gallery, Fraser’s work can be viewed throughout the year at venues in Louth, as well as at regular exhibitions on the Lincolnshire coast.

The featured artist for June at the Riverhead Gallery is ROBIN SMITH.

Robin was born in Louth and now lives in Grimoldby. After a five-year draughtsman apprenticeship at Rolls Royce and seven years in the Royal Navy, he joined the Derbyshire Fire service. His passion for aviation and mechanical subjects led to him discovering painting in 1979, and he’s never looked back.

His precise and beautifully observed aviation compositions have led to prestigious commissions from all over the world. He also creates exceptional still-life and landscape paintings. Robin’s work also hangs in his studio gallery in Grimoldby.

The featured artist for May is JOHN WAKELEY.

John was born in Somerset but has been a Louth resident since the mid 1990’s. He originally graduated in Biochemstry and completed further studies in animal sciences, before progressing a career in food manufacturing.

His art references the structures and order that he observed in factory and farm design, production line flows and the underlying molecular science of foods.

The featured artist for April is BOB ARMSTRONG and his exhibition THE JOURNEY.

Bob is a landscape artist inspired by the more remote parts of the British Isles using, sometimes, quite unconventional methods to achieve the desired effect. He had no formal art training and just sketched occasionally when time permitted before eventually signing up for a course.
His work and skills progressed over the years and he has now exhibited in the North, the Midlands, the West Country and in Scotland and Wales. Bob and his wife moved from the North Pennines to Lincolnshire in 2000 where he has now exhibited many times, as well undertaking painting projects for the National Trust at Gunby Hall and for the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust.
