Come and join us for a splendid evening of music on 14th March at Roding Valley High School. If you thought all romantic symphonies were written by men, think again! This symphony by Louise Farrenc is a gem. Partnered with the majestic Beethoven violin concerto, it makes for a very special evening.

Woodford Symphony Orchestra is running a string workshop on Sunday 8th Feb 2026 at Wanstead House Community Association Hall in Wanstead from 1.30 - 4.30.
These relaxed Sunday afternoon affairs are an opportunity to have fun playing an assortment of string music, with ample time for tea and home-made scones in the middle. For those feeling brave enough, we often play concertos where you can volunteer to play
the solo.

Lower strings are particularly welcome and yu don't to be a member of the orchestra.

This time we will be playing the Vivaldi Concerto for 4 Violins (RV580), Mozart Divertimento, accompanying a couple of songs
and possibly a selection from the Pirates of Penzance.

Woodford Symphony Orchestra presents a very special concert, joining with All Saints Choir, Epping Forest Singers and Theydon Bois Singers as part of the All Saints Woodford Wells 150th anniversary. As well as The Requiem by John Rutter, the choir will be singing a brand new work by our very own Joe Watling, "Yea, Though I Walk". The orchestra will give the singers a break with Schubert's 5th Symphony and Ravel's gorgeous "Pavanne pour une Infante Defunte"

Do join us for this celebratory concert on Saturday. Our friend, David Silkoff will be celebrating his 75th birthday by playing not one, but two Beethoven piano concertos!
There will be drinks and cake after the concert, so come and raise a glass to David 🥂

Rehearsals restart on Thursday 18th January 7.30 - 9.30 in the Great hall of Roding Valley High School IG10 3JA.
We always welcome new players and are currently recruiting for 1 clarinet, horns, trumpets and double basses. Strings of all sizes always welcome!
We don't have auditions, but the first term is free to see how you get on. For an idea of the standard you will need, see below for the programme for our next concert on 23rd March.
