This is a memory shared after an event last year. Do people think about the stuff "behind the scenes"? 😀🥳
We worked at a company event yesterday evening, that ran from 6pm until 10:30pm (a staff night out provided by their employers).
This is merely an insight (no, this isn't a complaint) to those of you who may never have thought about the entertainment staff who are making your night out a brilliant and unforgettable event.
Our "evening" of work actually started at 2:30pm with the rest of us (entertainment crew), at the unit to load the van with all the amazing equipment we were supplying for the evening. The large van was packed FULL of equipment, a lot of which is very heavy. Then we had to journey to the venue and set everything up, (which usually takes a couple of hours) then a quick break of about 20 minutes or so before the event started.
We worked all evening making the event an amazing night out for the company's staff enjoyment.
After the event finished, we packed everything away into the van then we had a sit down for half hour to have a well earned rest before heading back to the unit to unpack the van and put everything away.
We finally made it home after 1:30am.
Like the rest of the event team, we considered the evening to be another great job well done, with fantastic people. The company's staff had a brilliant night out, thanks to us, the entertainment/events team.
Being in this type of work is long hours, yet extremely enjoyable. We do this job because WE also have fun interacting with the audience/attendees. They have lots of fun, we equally have lots of fun.
Can't wait for the next event 😊🥳😍
