Another remarkable character in our show is John Dunlap.

Born in Strabane, John crossed the Atlantic alone at just 10 years old. That young Ulster-Scot boy went on to become the printer of the Declaration of Independence—the document that changed history forever. 🇺🇸🖨️

Did you know our show highlights influential figures of Ulster-Scots descent who helped shape the American Declaration of Independence? 🇺🇸

One of them is Francis Alison—a Donegal-born Ulster-Scots Presbyterian minister and educator who emigrated to America in 1735. He became a crucial intellectual figure in the pre-Revolutionary colonies, teaching five future signatories of the Declaration of Independence, including James Smith, as well as Charles Thomson, Secretary of the Continental Congress.
