Hand stitched scrap filled mesh heart β€οΈππͺ‘π§΅
How to do:
1. Save scraps of yarn, thread, odd socks, single gloves or any other fabric item destined for the bin
2. Using scissors cut up all of scraps into little pieces, creating cool colourful filler. (You can use this Eco-filler to fill most things even teddy bears).
3. Next draw a shape using a chalk pen onto your garment. I chose a heart but you could do anything you like.
4. Once you have drawn your chosen shape, lay mesh on top and tac into place with a needle and thread - leaving a little hole to be able to push the homemade filling in with a chop stick or pencil.
5. Once the mesh is tacked into place, cut away the excess mess.
6. Once your shape is filled with your Eco-filler, grab embroidery stitch and go around the edges with your choice of edge stitch. I chose to freestyle a satin edge stitch in bright pink.
Please let me know if you try this technique and manage to save any odd socks and other fibres from landfill π
