Phosphoros Theatre

Phosphoros Theatre Phosphoros Theatre is a theatre company and registered Charity that makes socially engaged performance with, for, and by refugees and asylum seekers.

We make and hold space for those with forced migration backgrounds to voice, reflect on and respond to their lived experience, taking charge of the narratives that seldom include their perspective. We create nationally touring productions, deliver one-off and regular arts work and training with refugees, schools and colleges, and professionals, and provide paid work, training and development opportunities for refugee artists and youth workers. Our recent productions include "Strung Out", "But everything has an ending", "Pizza Shop Heroes", "Dear Home Office: Still Pending" and our debut show "Dear Home Office", which was shortlisted for an Amnesty Freedom of Expression Award in 2016. We are currently working on several projects for 2020/21, including a brand new show called "All the beds I have slept in". We are a 'Theatre Company of Sanctuary' recognised by the City of Sanctuary scheme.
