Tales Retold was founded by Laura Perryman and Cassandra Hodges in 2009. Cas Hodges
Founder/ Artistic Director
Cas read English and Drama at Sussex University where she produced Measure for Measure, Othello, What The Butler Saw (Hello Id: Brighton Festival) and The Hypochondriac (SUDS: Edinburgh Festival). In London producing includes: Soliman and Perseda, More Light (Trifle Productions: Rose, Bankside), Much Ado About Nothing (Permanently Bard: Rose and Crown) and Safer (Trifle Productions: Tristan Bates Theatre), A Scent of Flowers, The Cherry Orchard (DogOrange: Brockley Jack). She produced Twelfth Night for outdoor summer company Permanently Bard in 2013 (Rose and Crown and Rose Bankside). She was awarded Arts Council funding for a Research and Development project Leaper: A Fish Tale with Hal Chambers at Tucked In Productions. This was supported by the Lyric Hammersmith and Brighton Dome. Cas is a graduate of the Stage One Scheme for new producers: stageone.uk.com
She also trained as an actor at Drama Studio London on the 1-year acting diploma. Since graduating, she has toured Shakespeare and appeared on Radio 4. She is also a drama practitioner at Questors Theatre. She has also worked for Ambassador Theatre Group as a marketing assistant and works as a PA for film producer Norma Heyman (Mrs Henderson Presents)

Laura Perryman
Founder 2009- 2011
Laura trained at Bretton Hall (University of Leeds), gaining a BA (Hons) in Dramaturgy. During this time, she worked as a Research/Production Dramaturg on varied projects including A Woman of No Importance and Eclipsed. Further training after university includes The Young Playwrights Course at the Royal Court Theatre, two years as a script reader for the Windsor Fringe Writing Festival and placements include stage/company management with the English Touring Theatre, Nick Brooke Ltd, and Theatre Royal Bath.
