When I revealed a WIP of my Dolly Parton portrait, I got a few messages saying I was asking for troubles 😅 If you don't know, I designed a mug featuring the 2020 portrait and it was selling like hot cakes until Dolly's big city lawyer wanted to punch me in my larynx (prob due to the "9 to 5" lyrics also on the mug).

Anyway, here's the updated version. I feel like the colours are more complimentary and the nature vibe is a good juxtaposition to the exaggerated look Dolly's known and loved for. Am I happy with it?

There's always something "more" I think can be done but you also gotta know when to stop; I've ruined work by petting it too much before. I'm happy to put this out now 🖌️

I'm reworking some of my portraits to reflect the knowledge I've gained over time, some small changes, some drastic. )

🔊Listen to me narrate bite-size history lessons while I draw! Some of you might’ve seen my finished portrait of Lilian Bader, the first black woman to join the RAF, well this is a fun way of showing you my process.

I reckon I’ll make this a series of videos so I can smoosh together my fascination with history and illustrating.

Side note: I keep trying to add captions to my videos but it seems to be corrupting my files when I do this? Let me know if you have any tips 🙌🏿

Different hat, different hair, same me

Throwback to around this time last year when I sold my first portrait ⚡️ I met up with my friend, we watched a compilation of Queens reading each other on then I made him take multiple pictures of me.

Looking forward to recreating this again for someone awesome.
