Inside the world of 1.17am
The set for 1.17am was designed by the brilliant whose work transforms the Finborough stage into an intimate, lived-in space where memories sit quietly in the corners.
Inspired by Tracey Emin’s A Second Life exhibition at Tate Modern, Mim’s design explores the quiet poetry of everyday objects: a mattress, scattered belongings, half-finished moments. Things that feel ordinary, but carry the weight of what’s happened in the room.
‘Mim Houghton’s set is stunning, placing Katie in a messy room that purposefully evokes Tracey Emin’s My Bed, a tribute to depression that makes a monument out of a mess.’ Daisy Hills, Everything Theatre
