How do you bring an animated world to life through sound? 🎬

In a guest lecture at Abbey Road Institute, award-winning composer and sound designer Jasper Dent explored the layers of instrumentation, production and sound design behind Two Black Boys in Paradise, the BAFTA-winning film.

Jasper shared how bespoke sound sets, creative audio processing and carefully chosen instrumental colours helped create a cohesive, immersive soundtrack that brings the film’s world to life.

Before Abbey Road Institute, Kerem was getting there somehow. Now, he’s getting there reliably.

Since completing the Audio Post Production course, Kerem has worked on multiple short films as a Dialogue Editor, Sound Designer and Dubbing Mixer, as well as a Turkish feature film featuring an A-list cast.

The course strengthened his confidence across every stage of post-production and provided hands-on experience with professional workflows, the Avid S6 and Dolby Atmos.

He’s now working on WAV, a documentary series following a travelling music producer as they collaborate with minority subcultures around the world to create music.

Polly Mackey — producer, artist, engineer and academic, known for her work as Art School Girlfriend and her experience across music production, studio engineering and sound design.

Jasper Dent — award-winning composer, sound designer and 2x platinum-awarded engineer, whose recent film project Two Black Boys in Paradise won a BAFTA this year.
