Introducing Scott Le Crass, director of

Scott was born in Bristol, grew up in Birmingham, trained as an actor at Arts Ed and was a director on the Birmingham Rep’s first Foundry Programme. In 2022, he completed the National Theatre Director’s Course.

He is an Associate Director for Pleasure Dome Theatre Company and has directed all their productions to date.

Scott directed the Off Com award winning digital revival of Rose by Martin Sherman starring Maureen Lipman (Hope Mill Theatre/Sky Arts/Broadway HD). In 2023 he was nominated for Best Creative West End Debut at The Stage Awards for his production of Rose. In 2022, he received an Off West End and Broadway World nomination for Best Director for Rose. In 2024 Rose won an Off West End award for Best Solo Performance.

🎭 Meet the writer of Possum Trot, Kathy Rucker 🎭

Kathy is an award-winning American playwright whose work has been produced in the U.S. and the U.K., captivating audiences with sharp wit, emotional depth, and timely explorations of contemporary issues.

Her play Crystal Springs premiered at London’s Park Theatre and San Francisco’s Eureka Theatre, earning the London Independent Story Prize for Best Stage Play. The Independent called it “an acutely intelligent play about cyberbullying… highly recommended.” Her play Darling, produced at the Hope Theatre in London, was nominated for the Standing Ovation Award.

Her most recent play, Possum Trot, was showcased at the Omnibus Theatre’s Engine Room festival in London in 2024, directed by Scott Le Crass, and will receive its world premiere at the Tabard Theatre (London) in the fall of 2025.

Other plays include Sultan’s Battery (Fresh Baked Theatre Company, Los Angeles); Turing Tested and Beautiful Scar (a finalist for the Heideman Award at the Humana Festival, Louisville, Kentucky); Done There, Been That (Bierkeller Theatre, Bristol); Maxine (Barons Court Theatre, London). Her work has been showcased at the Great Plains Theatre Conference, Last Frontier Theatre Conference, and the Sewanee Writers Conference.

Before her playwriting career, Kathy worked as a producer in the film industry. She lives in California with her husband and daughter and is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.

We are delighted to announce the exceptional cast for award-winning American playwright Kathy Rucker's latest show, Possum Trot. Opening this November, the play offers a timely exploration of small-town struggles, tackling the ongoing battles family farms face against big agricultural business and climate issues, in this captivating production.

Leading the production is Sarah Berger(Jeffrey Bernard is Unwell, Apollo Theatre & The Old Vic; The Green Man, BBC; Call The Midwife, BBC) as Maxine, the fearless and determined owner of Possum Trot’s diner, on a mission to rescue her town from the ongoing crises’ it faces. She is joined by Todd Boyce (Coronation Street, ITV; The Batman, Warner Bros; The Crown, Netflix) as the kind-hearted widower, Duane.

Dani Arlingon (Prima Facie, Empire Street Productions, Broadway & West End; Tiny Beautiful Things, Somerset House; Saint Maud; Live Theatre) plays Prudence, Maxine’s daughter, alongside Nikolas Salmon (The Totalitarians, English Theatre Frankfurt; For King and Country, Southwark Playhouse; Into Battle, Greenwich Theatre) as Jeremiah, Prudence’s husband. Neve Francis (Living Dying Dead, Playing Dead Theatre; Engine Room New Work, Omnibus Theatre) takes on the role of Billie, Prudence and Jeremiah’s daughter.
