A project to design, build and install a mosaic for a new high-end chocolate shop entrance in West London. I worked closely with the Makers team to create a piece that reflects the brand’s identity and complement the shop’s aesthetics.
 
The use of vibrant colours, particularly in the border are subtle nods to the cocoa’s origin story. The orange/yellow ripening cocoa pods, the green hues of the cocoa trees, the deep red of the mature beans, and the blue tones of the Caribbean Sea, a region where many cocoa trees are grown.
 
The layered, fan-like arrangement of the tesserae (andamento), combined with a nuanced blending of two marble shades in the background, creates a sense of flow and depth mirroring the rhythms of nature.

A new batch of limited-edition coaster sets made from a selection of premium hand-picked hard woods. I have partnered with who will be selling them exclusively on her market stand ready for the upcoming Christmas fairs. They will also be available on my website at some point in the future.
 
They are made from Oak, Sapele, African Rose wood, African teak and Mango. I have finished them with 2 coats of Danish oil and a coat of hard chestnut wax. 2024.
