The Bomb Factory Art Foundation was founded on the premise that art, artists and creative culture offer significant value in our society. Our mission is to support artists, cultural organisations and educational institutions to engage people of all ages and backgrounds in the viewing and creation of art. The Bomb Factory enables contemporary visual arts practice to thrive through the provision of

affordable studio and exhibition space as well as a supportive network of artists where peer collaboration and critique is encouraged.

All resident artists support the organisation by contributing their skills and time to the public programme. Their engagement with learning and participation enables The Bomb Factory Art Foundation to demonstrate the social value of art.

This is the final few days to catch our show “COLLECTIVISM”, on view in our Marylebone gallery. Open until Saturday, 12-6pm!

Sustaining an artistic practice alone has rarely been more difficult. In response, artist collectives have emerged as vital networks of support, offering shared authorship and new ways of working. This exhibition brought these approaches into focus, presenting work shaped through collective thinking and cultural exchange.

We’re hiring!

The Bomb Factory Art Foundation is looking for a Deputy Director (Operations & Finance) to help lead the organisation into its next chapter.

Over the last ten years, we’ve grown from a single gallery and studio site in a former munitions factory into a thriving artist-led charity. We now support more than 140 artists across four locations, deliver a year-round programme of exhibitions and events, and provide free creative opportunities for thousands of young people and community participants each year.

We’re expanding. We’re developing new projects, growing our educational offer and building towards a long-term future for the organisation. We’re looking for someone who can help make that happen.

If you’re a brilliant operator, strategic thinker and problem-solver who wants to play a key role in shaping an ambitious cultural organisation, overseeing finance, governance, HR and organisational operations, we’d love to hear from you.

Full details on the role are available through the link in our bio and our website.

To apply, Please send a CV and a cover letter no more than a page of A4 explaining why this role interests you and why you are the right person for it, to:

If you haven’t yet visited Collectivism, tomorrow is the perfect opportunity.

At the heart of the day is a panel discussion from 12–1pm, bringing together representatives from NiNE8, The Furies Collective, Critical Edge Collective and Breakfast Lunch and Dinner Collective, whose work is currently on display in the exhibition.

In conversation with Director Pallas Citroen, the artists will discuss what it means to work as part of a collective, the challenges and possibilities of collaborative practice, and how collective ways of working can offer a response to some of the most pressing challenges facing the arts today.

Alongside the talk, our Marylebone studios will be open from 12–6pm, offering a rare chance to step inside working artists’ studios, meet our resident artists and gain an insight into the day-to-day life of the Foundation.

The event forms part of London Gallery Weekend and marks the launch of Lisson Grove, a new initiative developed in partnership with Lisson Gallery, Patrick Heide Contemporary Art, Palmer Gallery and The Showroom that brings together arts organisations across the neighbourhood.

The Bomb Factory is looking for a Deputy Director!

The Deputy Director (Operations & Finance) is a new position in our organisiation that will lead the day-to-day running of The Bomb Factory, bringing together operations, HR, governance, finance oversight and property management under clear, reliable leadership. Working closely with the Director and deputising in her absence, you will line-manage teams across finance, buildings, studios and administration, and act as Company Secretary to the Board of Trustees.

Beyond keeping the organisation running well, you will play a central role in what comes next including delivery of our 3–5-year strategic business plan, securing a permanent home for the charity, developing Not Another Art School as a scaled income stream, and supporting our pathway toward Arts Council England NPO status.

This is a hands-on, generalist leadership role. You will need to be equally comfortable reviewing a lease, running a Board meeting, troubleshooting an IT system and supporting a member of staff sometimes all in the same week.

Join Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Collective in our Marylebone Gallery space for a relaxed, collaborative knitting session exploring care, connection and collective making.

Safety Blanket is an ongoing series of workshops where participants knit collectively from the same piece, creating a multi-edged form that grows outwards over time. As the artwork expands, it becomes a starting point for conversation, shared learning and unexpected moments of connection between strangers.

Rather than focusing on technical perfection or individual outcomes, this workshop embraces experimentation and collective learning. Mistakes are welcomed as part of the process and remain visible within the final piece.

This is a gentle, informal space for making, talking, observing and spending time creatively with others - no pressure, no previous experience required.

Free workshop, all materials provided.
