so far, after 9/16 shows, we’ve only sold about 40% of tickets (923) and we’re hoping to get to 50% by the end of the run 🤞🏻🤞🏻

we're so grateful for all of you as it feels like the vast majority of people who’ve bought tickets have been fans of the poets / spit nights for a while as they’ve brought such a warm and supportive energy.

we’ve not managed to convince many new people to give poetry x improv jazz a chance, and appreciate it’s quite a niche concept so we’ll learn from this and how we approach our marketing to attract more people new to poetry next time 😭

although it’s been hard, seeing and hearing the audience admiration for these performers makes it all so so worth it 💙 and the reviews from both critics and audience members have been so heartwarming so even though we’re set to lose around £17k for this year’s run, we’re still so keen to make it work next year and learn from this experience

huge shout out to the team so far for their sheer talent, generosity and work rate, and for everyone who’s come to support at the shows.

please do keep spreading the word, sending in reviews and giving us feedback so we can come back stronger next year!

there’s still 7 nights left with a varying lineup of poets and musicians so please do come 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

to be honest it's already been really tough in edinburgh

extra costs popping up here and there, lower ticket sales than expected, a relentless schedule of flyering > setting up > performing

but seeing and hearing the audience admiration for these performers makes it all so so worth it 💙
