Since the doors opened in 1979, this unique venue has been entertaining children with resonant, engaging and exciting theatre. Over 100,000 children a year come to Polka and are inspired, stimulated and engaged by theatre, often for the first time. Polka strives to stir the emotions, spark the imagination and, most of all, entertain. Its two theatre spaces, the Main Theatre and the Adventure Theat

re are designed especially for children so that their first taste of theatre is welcoming and relevant. Opening Times:

Tuesday – Friday: 9am – 5pm
Saturday – Sunday: 9:30am – 5pm (excluding Bank Holidays)

The building is closed on Mondays. Box Office Opening times:
Tues-Fri – 9am – 5pm
Sat-Sun – 10am – 4.30pm

📣 We'll be closed for a little bit 📣

From Monday 24 August - Wednesday 9 September we'll be closed for our annual dark period, so we can carry out some essential work to keep our building looking lovely! We'll be checking the theatres, cleaning the carpets, changing some décor and so much more, keep an eye out to see what we're up to.

To summarise:

⭐ Play Spaces, the Café and shop will be closed from Monday 24 August and reopen Wednesday 9 September.

⭐ Box Office will be open Monday 24 - Thursday 27 August & Tuesday 1 - Friday 4 September. Normal Box Office opening hours will return from Monday 7 September.

⭐ Shows will return with our Big Dreams Festival on Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 September. Our Weekly workshops start from Tuesday 22 September.

Happy 20th birthday Freefalling 🥳

Over the past twenty years, Freefalling has:

⭐ Helped over 380 young people
⭐ Delivered over 700 hours of workshops
⭐ Performed 24 performances
⭐ And arranged over 1100 cab trips for the young people who need them!

A massive shout out to our incredible Freefalling Project Manager Dominic Hedges, and this year's practitioners Aqiong Zhang, Catriona Malbaski and Melissa Berry.

It was a joy to visit Ronald McDonald House Tooting with our Arthur cast 🫶

Together, they explored the beautiful garden, made potions and played games. Thank you to all the children and families for welcoming us in!

The House provides a safe place for families with children at St George's Hospital and we are proud to support is as part of our Community Programme.

In recognition of their incredible work, awards were given out to select members of the team, including 'Team Player', 'Outstanding Contribution' and 'Going Above and Beyond' . We could not operate without all these wonderful people, and we hope you join us in thanking them for all they do ❤️
