Eliana Rosas is a Peruvian performer: singer and dancer, trained by the Centre of Music and Dance of the University (PUCP), in Lima, Peru. Currently leading Mulata Dance Company, the ethos of the company follows the methodology developed by the famous artist Victoria Santa Cruz, to find the dancer’s inner rhythm in connection to ancestral memories deleted by history of colonialism shared across Latin American countries and the African diaspora. The Afro-Peruvian practice not only allowed storytelling of slavery injustice, but also served as practice of liberation.
She will facilitate the Afroperuvian Inner Rhythms - The workshop will explore and guide the participant's expression of rhythm exposing them to Afro-Peruvian rhythms, including those for reflection, celebration or liberation: festejos, zamacuecas, lando.
The experience combines: fun, tradition and ancestral awareness.
