Raise it Up is a monthly Friday night held at the recently revamped cult Dalston venue, The Victoria, home of exclusive and exciting happenings from the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Slaves and Mike Skinner to namedrop just a few. It’s all about the Payday Party Music – go and spend very little dough (just £3 in post 10pm) and go mental to an anything goes music policy, from good time Hip Hop to Breaks, House, Techno, Soul, Funk, Pop… if it suits the moment, it’s in. This month’s special guest is the legendary Don Letts has major slot on BBC Radio 6, Dj's around the world, has made many films and has deep rooted history with bringing Reggae into UK clubs crossing over with punk, filming, djing with, The Clash and The S*x Pistols amongst many others, theres endless stories but one springs to mind is when Bob Marly stayed with him for weeks and stole his girl friends! The Raise it Up DJs Dirty Sue, Robin 12Trees and P&O will also be on hand to crank you right up and into the moment till 2am.
