A recent SOLT report celebrated theatre goers returning to the West End in record numbers, with attendance rising 11% above pre-pandemic levels. Nearly 1 in 4 international visitors to London took in a West End show, and demand for live theatre is stronger than ever. Continued investment in the arts will ensure that these moments of escapism, audience connection and joy continue to be a vital driver of London's economy.
And of course, it's not just London. It is thanks to collaborations of talent around the UK - and globally - that as many people as possible have the opportunity to experience these incredible live moments. So, this World Theatre Day, we celebrate everyone who makes theatre possible.
