Lauderdale House is situated in Waterlow Park on Highgate Hill, North London.

Built in 1582 and set in the beautiful Waterlow Park, Lauderdale House now runs primarily as an arts and education centre, welcoming over 65,000 visitors each year. Our varied programme includes performances, exhibitions, classes and events as well as weddings, parties and receptions, which together bring this historic building to life. Last week, we held the private view for our annual Cabinet of Curiosities exhibition!

This exhibition celebrates the natural environment, taking inspiration from Waterlow Park and the collection of former Lauderdale resident, James Yates.

It was great to have the 69 students who took part in the project from Parliament Hill and William Ellis schools join us, as well as teachers, parents and Lauderdale Board Members.

On display are the wonderful pieces created by the students, including bronze sculptures, prints, porcelain structures and clay discs found throughout the House and Park.

The exhibition is on until 5th July and is free to view. Do check our website for our gallery opening hours as these could change at short notice.

Join us for our next Social Walk on Tuesday 23 June 🌿

Meet new people, enjoy some fresh air and discover fascinating stories from Highgate’s past.

Starting at Lauderdale House, we’ll walk through Waterlow Park, uncovering some of its rich history along the way, before heading into Highgate Cemetery for a special guided introduction to one of London’s most historic landmarks.

Our Social Walks are run in partnership with Holly Lodge Community Centre and Highgate Society, bringing local residents together in a friendly and welcoming setting. Social walks are free and there is no booking required.

Our Grand Summer Raffle is back! 💐

Lauderdale House is a charity bringing arts and education to everyone, all while preserving this amazing historic building.

It's the time of year for outdoor events, and we're kicking off our Open-Air Summer Season with Jazz on the Tea Lawn with the John Crawford Latin Quintet 🎵

Our Sundial Sunday performances are back with Camden Music Jazz Group on Sunday 21 June - part of our Highgate Festival 2026 line-up 🎷

Come along to enjoy an afternoon of free performances on our Tea Lawn. Included in the programme are young musicians from Camden Music Service’s intermediate and advanced jazz groups, Camden Youth Jazz Bands and young jazz musicians from Parliament Hill.
