The very spiffy new Royal School of Needlework website launched yesterday, and along with it a chance to join me for my Goldwork Map Making class, which I'll be running online from 20th April -11th May. I'll be guiding students how to adapt their favorite place into a stunning Goldwork piece.

I've been working on my own map project this week as well, NYC is finally making progress again!

Who fancies stitching their own Christmas decoration? And using up some of their stash of fabric & threads to do it?

Well you’ve found the right place. We have just launched a series of Festive Stitch & Stash classes which will run over 2 weekends in November - 6th, 7th & 8th and the 13th, 14th & 15th. Each class is 3 hours long, they take place at different times during the day & there are 10 gorgeous classes to choose from.

Nearly forgot to post my Day 4 outfit - my self made chequered flag dress for the last day of racing! And the start of the TT race as I’m not *just* there for the fashion!

Day 3 of Goodwood revival, and an original 1950s evening dress still with its original crinoline. Accessorised with a vintage feather stole, embroidered (not by me!) handbag and vintage satin hat! Not pictured: comfy trainers! Kate is in a fab wrap blouse and rust pencil skirt with a 1940s hat.

Goodwood Revival Day 2! My self made trousers and a vintage Vivienne Westwood jacket accessorised with the rosette I made with Elizabeth Ashdown MA RCA and a vintage velvet hat. Also featuring my wonderful sister Kate de Rousset-Hall who I inadvertently cropped out of the Day 1 post!

10 years ago, on the August bank holiday weekend I dragged my sister to a whitework class at Royal School of Needlework as an emergency escape from my corporate job. This bank holiday I’m back as a student learning passementerie and I’ve been teaching for 6 years!

I’ve had a fabulous last two weeks teaching this bunch with Natalie Rowe on the Royal School of Needlework Silk Shading Summer Intensive. We laughed, we cried, we sweated and we bled but I’m so proud of what you achieved!

It’s been quiet from me on the stitching front for a little while, as I’ve been working with Royal School of Needlework for the last year on their fabulous Fragile Threads project. It’s been a lot of planning and spreadsheet wrangling, but we’re now well in to the project delivery and have just launched our website. Visit www.fragilethreads.com to see what we’ve been up to!
